The ever increasing regulations to reduce the temperature of cooked food quickly is a demanding factor to all food manufacturers. This step in the production process can be optimised with the use of chilled water.
The use of a closed cooling circuit, where water is chilled by a cooling system, is the best way to prevent waste of valuable water and the problems related to the drainage of impure water.
Closed circuit water cooling systems can essentially be divided into two main categories: the first category utilizes a refrigeration circuit (ie. process water chillers), while the second uses ambient air to cool the water. Using a closed circuit has the advantages of using Glycol as the cooling fluid. This will allow the Chiller to reduce the temperature of the fluid to minus temperatures and with aid of a heat exchanger or cooling jacket the product can be cooled quickly.
The above process can be applied to non-food applications e.g. injection moulding, laser cutting and extruding.
Multi Compressor Packs
Many refrigerated systems in Convenience Stores, Process Factory’s or Deli/Butchery shops require a number of outdoor condensing units to refrigerate each refrigerated item. A more economical method of refrigerating each item would be use a multi compressor pack system with digital control.
This pack would be connected to all refrigerated items (same temperature) and with either an inverter controlled Semi-Hermitic or Digital Scroll as the lead compressor, the duty of the pack will ramp up and down as the load increases and decreases. This proves to be a very economic system compared to single condensing units.
